Week of Oct. 19 – 25, 2025: New Moon in Libra
Welcome back, my cosmic witches. This upcoming week is an impactful one, with the cosmos shifting us from reflection to revelation. Last week, Venus entered her home sign of Libra, giving us a positive portal for manifestation. We're now stepping into the scales of balance represented by the New Moon in Libra, followed immediately by the Sun's plunge into the dark underworld of Scorpio.
Weekly Astrology Forecast
This week marks the point in the year where we esoterically move from the judgement and balance of the scales (Libra) to the initiation of the underworld (Scorpio) on Oct. 22. This transition can be compared to the ancient Egyptian Book of the Dead, which describes how the soul's heart was weight against the feather of Ma'at (the goddess of truth and cosmic order) before entering the afterlife. Only a heart light with truth and balance could pass through the gates; if heavier it was devoured by Ammit, the Devourer of Souls. This week's transits mirror that sacred passage.
On Monday, Oct. 20, the planet of communication, Mercury, joins with action-oriented Mars in Scorpio. This is sharpening our words and intensifying our focus. The dark feminine goddess Black Moon Lilith (mean) is close behind this conjunction, releasing explosive emotions and buried truths, pushing us to communicate with radical honesty. Deep truths are coming to light today that may trigger a verbal reaction and clear away energetic stagnation in our lives. The term "fighting words" comes to mind.
The energy culminates this week on Tuesday, Oct. 21, with the New Moon in Libra. A New Moon occurs when the Moon and Sun meet at the same degree in the sky, joining light and shadow in perfect alignment. This particular New Moon is forming a cardinal t-square planetary alignment with lucky Jupiter in Cancer and the wounded warrior, Chiron, retrograde in Aries. This potent planetary alignment marks a major cosmic reset for new intentions, commitments, emotional growth, and a more elevated perspective on love, partnership, and your value. Cardinal signs, Libra, Aries, Capricorn, and Cancer will feel this new moon the most. Venus, Libra's planetary ruler and the goddess of art, is also in the same sign as the New Moon. While it's too far away to be a close conjunction, it still has a positive effect. For those in creative, artistic, or beauty-centered fields, the New Moon is opening up an empowering new beginning, rekindling creative inspiration, and restoring self-worth and authenticity over the next couple of weeks.
On the same day as the Libra New Moon, Mercury enters its pre-retrograde shadow period in Scorpio, the phase that begins roughly two weeks before Mercury officially stations retrograde. This shadow marks the start of the storyline we'll revisit once the retrograde begins, offering early clues about what will need review or realignment. Communication, travel, and technology may already be showing subtle signs of slowing down or shifting direction. It's recommended to navigate shadow periods like retrograde: take your time with new decisions, re-read, re-think, and revise. Try to wait until Mercury is out of the post-retrograde shadow period in December if you can. If not, get everything done now before Mercury officially turns retrograde on Nov. 9.
By Wednesday, Oct. 22, the cosmic landscape shifts as Neptune retrogrades back into Pisces for the final time in our lifetime. Neptune takes 165 years to move through the entire zodiac, and it first moved into Pisces in 2012. This final retrograde period serves as the closing chapter of this 13-year spiritual cycle.
Neptune is the modern ruler of the zodiac sign Pisces, and this transit has evoked spiritual awakening, simultaneous delusion, collective shifts in consciousness, and an artistic renaissance. Over the past decade, we've seen an explosion of spiritual seeking, an artistic renaissance, and the dissolution of boundaries between the material and the mystical. Yet, as with all Neptune cycles, what elevates can also distort. This same energy that inspired spiritual unity and faith also fueled the rise of illusion, fanaticism, and ideological extremism. From the growth of cult-like political movements like MAGA and dogmatic belief systems like the Taliban, to the weaponization of religion and control over women's bodies, Neptune in Pisces shows how easily devotion can become delusion when compassion loses its grounding in truth. The opioid crisis, increases in fentanyl and meth use, and alcohol pushback with the sober curious movement (coined by my fabulous friend Ruby Warrington) were major topics during this era, too.
An infamous past cycle of Neptune in Pisces occurred in the late 1600s, during the Salem Witch Trials, when fear, illusion, and religious fervor blurred the line between truth and spiritual psychosis. During this cycle, we've witnessed wars justified in the name of God, moral crusades masking fear, and collective grief spilling over into confusion and projection. But in its higher expression, this cycle has also taught us that the antidote to illusion is awareness. As Neptune returns to Pisces one last time, the key is to remember that spirituality is not about control, but about connection; not about belief, but about embodiment.
The same day, the Sun enters Scorpio, initiating the season of emotional depth and shadow transmutation. The Sun's ingress into Scorpio begins a season of reflection, revision, shadow work, and internal transformation. This is the time to confront what's been buried and transmute it into strength.
The week continues to unfold with Jupiter in Cancer, the planet of emotional growth, forming a square to Chiron, the wounded healer, activating deep emotional growth on Thursday, October 23. Themes of self-worth, confidence, and identity healing come to the surface. You may find yourself confronting old stories that once limited your sense of possibility. This transit offers an opportunity to expand through standing in your truth and advocating for your needs.
As we move toward the weekend, the energy intensifies once more. On Friday, October 24, the Sun in Scorpio forms a square to Pluto in Aquarius, creating a powerful call for truth and liberation. This is one of the most transformative aspects of the month, revealing what must end for authentic power to emerge. Power struggles, revelations, or emotional turning points are likely, but everything happening now serves to align you more deeply with your soul's purpose.
Oracle Card of the Week

The Phoenix 🔥 Death and Rebirth
We are working with my Black Moon Lilith Cosmic Alchemy Oracle this week as the Sun shifts from Libra's balance into Scorpio's depths of dark feminine transformation. With Black Moon Lilith also traveling through Scorpio until December 20, her final lessons on marginalization, misogyny, and power reclaimation come to the surface. I chose to step directly into the shadow with you now to help you feel empowered through this passage of alchemical change.
When The Phoenix appears in a reading, it signals readiness to burn away the old, purify through fire, and rise renewed. This ancient emblem of Scorpio depicts an eagle-like bird with radiant feathers and colors that lives for centuries, self-destructs, and is reborn from its own ashes. It’s the perfect mirror of your current transformation: endings that demand surrender before rebirth can unfold.
You’re crossing a threshold into an entirely new reality, but to do so, you must release attachment to what’s collapsing. Trust that the universe, your guides, and your ancestors are conspiring for your evolution. The flames are not here to destroy you; they’re refining you. Let what’s outgrown dissolve so that what’s true can take flight once more.
