Tuesday, April 14: Mercury enters Aries
After a challenging Mercury retrograde period, Mercury enters Aries on Tuesday, shifting the energy of the week quickly. Mercury governs communication, thought patterns, contracts, agreements, the nervous system, and how we articulate ourselves. We are moving out of the emotional fog and complexity of Mercury in Pisces and into the fiery, fast-moving, decisive energy of Aries. Speech becomes more direct, and any contracts or agreements that were delayed during Mercury retrograde can begin moving forward much more quickly now.
On a collective level, more war and conflict globally as all of this Aries energy is activated. The cosmos is feeding the fire of anger. Mercury is all about negotiation, but when in Aries, it wants to bring the heat instead of making peace. We will also see a backlash against fascism globally through protests or people casting their vote against the right wing that is trying to take over not only the United States, but the world. Of course, with Neptune involved in this week's astrology, there may be more deceit and lack of truth while the collective is attempting to speak their truth to power.
For all my entrepreneurs, professionals, and corporate baddies out there, after Tuesday, this is a powerful time to launch something new, move forward with contracts, accept a new job, or start a new job. Important meetings and interviews are a good idea too. I always advise my clients to wait until Mercury is fully out of its shadow period, but this retrograde was especially challenging because Mercury was also in detriment in Pisces. That is why I also recommend waiting until after Mercury moves into Aries on Tuesday. Now, the energy is finally here to make forward moves. Mercury will remain in Aries until May 2.
Friday, April 17: New Moon in Aries
At the end of the week, we have another powerful Aries activation with the New Moon arriving at 7:51 a.m. EDT on Friday. In astrology, a New Moon represents initiation, new beginnings, and forward momentum. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, a cardinal fire sign ushering in the Spring Equinox, associated with action, courage, impulsivity, and the self. This New Moon in Aries is like lighting a match and sparking the flame of life.
Let’s unpack the astrology of this New Moon. The Sun and Moon form an exact conjunction in Aries, making this moon dark with no visible light. An exact conjunction is when two planets meet at the same exact degree in the sky, blending their energies in the strongest possible way. Chiron, the wounded healer, is also making a close connection to the Sun and Moon. This suggests that the collective is being asked to take the reins on old wounds, setbacks, and insecurities, and to move toward passion and desire with greater courage and less apology.
Farther out, we also see an Aries stellium, meaning three or more planets gathered in one sign, made up of Mercury, Mars, Saturn, and Neptune. Together, this stellium forms harmonious connections with Pluto in Aquarius and Black Moon Lilith in Sagittarius.
